Fire class selection

The right product starts with the right class: reaction to fire (B/C/D), load-bearing resistance (R) and integrity/insulation (EI) measure different things. The table below matches this site’s products to their classes.

Reaction to fire (B/C/D-s1,d0)

s1 = low smoke, d0 = no flaming droplets. See Glossary: EN 13501-1.

Load-bearing resistance (R30–R120)

Integrity and insulation (EI30–EI240)

Novatherm 4SP is a repair spackle that levels damaged surfaces before fire paint (manufacturer-stated EI30–EI240). Not tintable; fire paint goes over it; used with Novatherm 2FR/4FR and Steel 1001/1002.

Decision steps

  1. Pin down the required class and the surface (facade, escape route or structure?).
  2. Narrow candidates with the Solution Finder and compare side by side on Compare.
  3. Confirm the choice against product TDS/ETA documents; never use off-TDS consumption or topcoats.
